Fire Station No. 1

Civic

Fire Station No. 1 is located in Tyler just north of downtown, it replaces two aging and outdated fire stations. The new station includes five engine bays (three being pull-through bays), a day room with kitchen and dining facilities, separate food pantries per shift, sleep room pods with individual bedrooms, locker rooms with showers for both male and female firefighters, a workout room, a district chief office, and large training room. The large training room can be used for staff training, emergency operations, and by the community. Both the day room and workout room have access to a large outdoor patio. The apparatus bay has a state-of-the-art exhaust system with separate space for firefighter gear and cleaning equipment such as extractors to remove pollutants from firefighters' gear. Daylighting and lighting controls offer environmental comfort to station staff.
