About

We endeavor to positively impact and inspire the people who experience the buildings and spaces we help shape with 25 years of architectural experience.

Brian Phillips has over 25 years of experience in practicing architecture. After earning his Bachelor's in Architecture from Louisiana Tech University in 1998, Brian has worked with a number of firms in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. He practiced architecture in Texas for 18 years with Fitzpatrick Architects, serving as a partner in the firm for 12 years. These experiences afforded Brian with numerous professional and personal opportunities producing a body of work that is wide-ranging in scope and scale for various end-users and occupants. These relationships and communities left a meaningful impact on him with lessons and knowledge that guide BPA as we serve Northwest Arkansas.

Brian is a NCARB certified architect, and maintains architectural licenses in both Arkansas and Texas. He works with clients from project acquisition through construction completion. He coordinates teams composed of architects, interior designers, consulting engineers, landscaping architects, and specialty consultants.  Collaboration between the design team and the Client is a crucial priority for BPA in every project undertaken.

Northwest Arkansas is a perfect fit for Brian and his family, who share a passion for the outdoors. The Phillips family enjoys hiking, rafting, kayaking, and, most of all, mountain biking. Brian is a volunteer coach for the Bentonville High School NICA mountain bike team, a member of the Pedaler’s Pub cycling team, an active participant in the Trail Adoption Program (TAP), and a board member of the NWA Trailblazers. Living in the Mountain Biking Capital of the World is exactly where they want to be!

Services

  • Architectural Design

BPA’s understanding of architectural design is based on being environmentally conscious while also being functional and responsive to the end-user. It is important for each project to be designed to meet the client’s individual needs while fitting into its environmental context and site. This approach is aligned with the values which aid the overall project experience and client services that each project receives.

  • Site Planning | Master Planning

Looking at the overall site, context, and proper planning for growth is a vital part of the longevity of a project. BPA has the experience of researching the number of components that advise and steer placemaking and planning. Engaging stakeholders for input for those who will be affected by the overall planning is vital for the creative process.

  • Interior Design Collaboration

The interior architectural design is as equally a part of the design as the exterior. Atmosphere, aesthetics, and feel ensure the overall concept is followed through within the project. BPA’s collaborations with consultants and professionals guarantee that the finished product design is cohesive and complete.

  • Building Programming

Programming is a specialty that allows spaces to be placed strategically based on the needs of the end-user. Before design begins, programming can form the shape of the building and what it can grow into. BPA’s space planning expertise helps insure the use and program requirements, the context of the site, and the design of the project are all addressed to make a project a cohesive whole.

  • Design 3D Visualization

Visualizing what the project will look like and exploring the inhabited spaces can allow the users to feel exactly what the built environment will be prior to construction. With the 3D technology we utilize in our firm, we can provide clients with the experience of exploring the design and environment before construction even begins.

  • Design Concept Generation

One of the first steps in the design is to research precedents to create a general idea of what the aesthetic goals are for the project. Pairing this with the context of the site can give us a guide to creating concept designs to meet the client's goals. Looking at materials, regional conditions and previously built designs are all part of the design concept process.
